MEET THE MAST COACHES
Corey Dauw- Head Age Group Coach
Coach Corey is in his first year as MAST Head Age Group Coach. He has been coaching with MAST since the fall of 2005. For this winter season he will be working with the Red 3 and Black 1 groups. Corey graduated from Milford High School in 2001, where he swam and played water polo all four years. Corey has been working with Coach Tameris and the high school swim team since 2005, coaching the Junior Varsity. Corey first learned to swim at the Miami Hills swim club and went on to coach the Dolphins for eight summers
Nichole Babinec
Coach Nichole first started coaching for MAST the summer of 2008. This will be her 5th season coaching R2. Coach Nichole started swimming at age 5 for the Clermont Clippers and swam for many years. Nichole started coaching after her son Tyler Babinec joined the team in 2007
Tiffany Brumburg
Coach Tiffany is in her second year of coaching at MAST, beginning last year with Black 1 and moving Red 3 and Black 2 this season. She has also served as the head coach of the Cincinnati Sports Club Flying Fish for the past 3 summers. Tiffany started swimming competitively at age 4, continuing through high school and as a part of the inaugural Wilmington College swim team. She was the goalie for Napoleon High School’s back-to- back water polo Ohio State Championship team, and still holds the Wilmington College record for the 400 Individual Medley.
Martin Martinez
Coach Martin was born in NYC. He learned how to swim when he joined the Boys Club and was also on the swim team. He moved to Puerto Rico where he attended High School and joined the Civil Air Patrol Cadets. He graduated and Joined the US.Navy. Martin was stationed on the Aircraft Carrier, USS. Forrestal CV-59 were he was a SAR (Search and Rescue) Swimmer. He met Darletta in Florida where he had Domingo & Julio. They moved to Puerto Rico for one year and then relocated to Ohio where they had Natalie. Today he is an Official for MAST, the designated Batavia High School Swim Coach, and Coach of Red 1 where he "enjoys teaching the little kids to swim".
Andy Storch
Andy Storch lives in Milford with his wife Kate and three kids Gwen, Carolyn, and Tony. All three kids have been members of MAST starting in 1999. Andy has worked with every age group skill level since he began coaching for MAST in 2000. In addition to swimming, he has coached one season of basketball, four seasons of volleyball, 30+ seasons of soccer including five years as a girl’s varsity soccer coach.
As the founder of an American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) region in Three Rivers, Michigan he served four years as the first commissioner and head referee/coach trainer of that league; building it from 200 to over 600 participating kids.
Andy’s coaching philosophy is based on three fundamental concepts used while working to progressively build skills, endurance, and speed. The athletes keep moving with discussion minimized; frequent feedback is provided using positive coaching techniques; and high levels of enthusiasm are injected into each practice session.
Andy recently ended a 23 year Navy reserve career culminating with a deployment to Iraq as the commander of a military history detachment working for the Army out of Camp Victory in Baghdad. He’s held a variety of production and operations related positions in manufacturing management for the past 21 years.
